Learn About Draintech Plumbing Drain Cleaning Hydro Jetting
Have a plumbing-related question? We have the answer! Check out our FAQs below to learn more about our company and services.
- My drain is clogged. Should I use drain cleaners found at the hardware store?
Use store-bought drain cleaners sparingly, as many can cause damage to your plumbing. Ask your local plumber for product recommendations!
- Is there anything I can try to unclog my drain before calling Draintech?
There are a few steps to take before calling a plumber. We recommend trying to use a plunger, if possible. If the plunger does not work, try a hand-cranked snake.
- What are the most common causes of clogged drains?
Some common causes of clogged drains include cooking grease, coffee grounds, hair, soap scum, and more. If you're unsure of what is clogging your drain and you can't handle it on your own, contact a plumber to help.
- How can I increase the life of my water heater?
There are a few ways to extend the life of your water heater, but the one that we recommend is to install a water softener/conditioner. For additional tips, give us a call!
- What causes my faucet to drip?
Usually, an internal mechanism needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Normally they are inexpensive to fix. If they cannot be fixed, Draintech does have Delta and Moen faucets available. Call and have a plumber evaluate your faucet today.
- Can a running toilet increase my water bill?
A running toilet can increase your water bill by about $100 a year! Contact us to find out how a plumber from Draintech can help.
- How often should I have my septic tank pumped?
Story County now requires septic tanks to be pumped every 5 years and recommends septic tank pumping every 3 to 5 years. Draintech can assist with all your septic tank pumping needs throughout Story and surrounding counties.
- Is there additional maintenance for a septic system?
Besides septic pumping, we highly recommend dropping in a 2 oz. microbial formula packet each month to improve and maintain your septic system performance. Draintech also recommends cleaning your filter every October.
